If you haven’t already heard, change is in the air! My current practice Holdsworth House Brisbane is closing. It’s the end of an era spanning more than 11 years. Our building has been sold and we’ve had to move. But don’t panic! A new practice is just around the corner, literally. We (myself, Dr Graham Lister and Dr Kate Evans) will be moving to a brand new practice in July, called Stonewall Fortitude Valley, in Doggett Street, just a stone’s throw away. And if you are a patient at Holdsworth all your records will move with us unless you prefer otherwise (you will be given the choice to opt out). We will also welcome Dr Nick Martin, who has a long history of working with the LGBTQI community. And even greater news, we will have a pharmacy on site!!

Unfortunately our new practice won’t be ready for us to move into straight away, so we will be working temporarily out of Stonewall Medical Centre in Windsor until the new place is ready in July. I’m going on holidays for a month during this changeover period, so I apologise for low appointment availability. I will be back mid-June and you can book appointments in advance now by calling Stonewall.

I will miss our quirky little practice with its magenta wall, although I won’t miss the cramped rooms. I know change is frightening for many of you, but I can assure you that our new practice will be even more welcoming and will continue the longstanding tradition of caring for our community. Our wonderful practice nurse Anne-Maree and lovely receptionist Julie will also be coming with us, so there will be lots of familiar faces. I honestly can’t wait to welcome you all to Stonewall Fortitude Valley when the doors finally open.
